The Emotional Rollercoaster of Avengers: Endgame
While it may have been a heart-wrenching moment, Robert Downey Jr.’s (Tony Stark/Iron Man) final words in Avengers: Endgame still resonate: "I am Iron Man." Sometimes it’s the simple lines that pack the biggest punch, and these three words prove that even in death, Tony Stark is yet to be silenced.
Another standout quote from the same movie comes from Ant-Man’s Scott Lang, with Paul Rudd showcasing the character’s signature wit: "We’re in the past, we can get arrested. You know what will get us arrested? Being caught in a public place where there’s no beer." Amidst all the chaos, this line manages to make us chuckle.
The Rise of the Disney+ Shows
The MCU has expanded exponentially with the introduction of the Disney+ shows. In Loki, the God of Mischief puts things into perspective with this humorous yet biting quote: "The people of Earth love a good lie. They’ll forgive anything if you’re charming enough." Tom Hiddleston once again brings this charm to the screen, making the viewers love him, despite his manipulative nature.
In Ms. Marvel, our new favorite teenager-in-superhero-terms, Kamala, reminds us of why superheroes truly matter: "I don’t want to be some superhero who just wins. I want to be someone who figures it out, the right way, and who doesn’t forget that we’re all in this together." You might think you’ve outgrown teenage phases, but this endearing line by Ms. Marvel’s lead will have you coming back for more.
Marvel’s New Generation
F4’s quartet of young heroes introduced Shang-Chi (Simu Liu) to the big screen. Shang-Chi’s take on family truly solidifies his new place in the universe: "It’s not the name, Abba. It’s the things we hold onto. That’s what makes us who we are. That’s what makes us, us." Unraveling everything Shang-Chi has stood for, he ultimately states what he won’t live without – family.
On a more comedic note, from the same movie, we have the classic exchange:
"You need to take this seriously." – Wenwu’s brother-in-law
"Wenwu just challenged you, not the Avengers, not the FBI – you – personally." Anyone who’s watched movies with eccentric villains can attest to Wenwu’s proud history, so this hilarious jab stands out like one grand line from him.
Let’s not forget to mention the infamous Riddick’s return to reality: Marvels still seems unsure of that but we’ve actually been here." Once one does, Doctor Strange never leaves viewers with more of an immense imagination from that of in the Multi-Verse of Madness, -The Multi-Verse has been "on" so much that many may have forgotten what the past actually even holds."
